To collect a sputum culture test specimen , follow the following collection methods:

• Rinse the oral cavity, in the morning, on an empty stomach, by gargling.
• Collect sputum after a cough in a sterile wide-mouth container with a screw cap.
• The sample should not salivate.
• If the patient has difficulty in expectorating, an aerosol of warm water can be used, inhaling slowly and deeply about 10 times.
• In the case of collection on three samples, the samples must be brought individually to the Laboratory.
